Block Island Fast Ferry
On July 3, 2013 Rhode Island Fast Ferry applied to the Rhode Island Public Utilities Commission to operate a new fast ferry service from Quonset Point, North Kingstown to Old Harbor Block Island. On September 22, 2016 the RI PUC granted the license after 3-years of resistance from the current service provider Block Island Ferry and the Town of New Shoreham. This new departure location will offer the Public easy access from Interstate 95 and Route 4 especially during the busy summer months. The high-speed ferry trip will take 55 minutes through beautiful Narragansett Bay and along the South County shoreline to Block Island.
