Rhode Island Fast Ferry is a family owned privately held company. President and founder Charles A. Donadio, Jr. has over 20 years of marine transportation experience.  The last 16 years his companies have specialized in the operation of high-speed aluminum catamarans off the East Coast of the United States including Rhode Island, New York, New Jersey, Florida, Bermuda and the islands of Block Island and Martha's Vineyard.  We have entered into many fast ferry Charter agreements with other companies needing additional lift support for their ferry services.

Atlantic Wind Transfers

May 18, 2015 - Rhode Island Fast Ferry enters into long-term Charter Agreement with Deepwater Wind to provide Offshore Wind Farm Support Services for the Block Island Wind Farm.  Atlantic Wind Transfers becomes officially the first offshore wind farm support company in the U.S. with launching the "Atlantic Pioneer" a specialized support vessel providing crew and cargo transfer services.

Block Island Fast Ferry

July 1, 2013 - Rhode Island Fast Ferry applies to the RI Public Utilities Commission to operate fast ferry service to Block Island from Quonset Point.  On September 22, 2016 the RI PUC approved the License and plans are currently underway to startup this much anticipated ferry service.

Martha's Vineyard Fast Ferry

2003 to Present - Mr. Donadio founded Rhode Island Fast Ferry, Inc. operating the first high-speed ferry to the island of Martha's Vineyard from Quonset Point, North Kingstown, Rhode Island.

Island Hi-Speed Ferry, LLC.

1998 - Mr. Donadio founded Island Hi-Speed Ferry, LLC. which operated the first high-speed ferry to the island of Block Island from from Point Judith, Rhode Island.  Mr. Donadio sold his ownership interest in 2003 to start up Rhode Island Fast Ferry.

 

Galilee Cruises, Inc. - Southland Riverboat

1995 - Mr. Donadio brought back the Southland Riverboat, a 150 passenger flat-bottom riverboat which offered Sightseeing Cruises, Sunset Cruises and Private Party functions throughout the Point Judith Pond and Harbor of Refuge.  Mr. Donadio sold the company in 2007.
